These are wonderful and easy to make. They are very very similar to a Quaker chewy granola bar. You can control the amount of sugar you want or additions such as raisins, chocolate chips, or nuts.
2 ½ C. Rice Krispy’s
2 C. quick cooking oats
½ C. brown sugar firmly packed
½. C. corn syrup (light or dark)
½ C. peanut butter
1 t. vanilla
½ C. raisins (optional)
½ C. chocolate chips (optional)
In large bowl, combine, rice krispy’s, oats, & raisins. Set aside. In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring brown sugar and corn syrup to a boil stirring constantly. Remove from heat, stir in peanut butter and vanilla until well blended. Pour mixture over cereal mixture and toss until well coated. Let stand 10 minutes, stir in chocolate chips. Spray 9x13 pan with Pam and press mixture in pan. Allow to cool completely before cutting.
Note: I only use half the brown sugar called for.
